Be part of the effort to transform the historic Richardson building in Downtown Hartford into a living, thriving community of makers, artisans, inventors, and entrepreneurs. “MakeHartford” is the nexus of this energy and activity. It is 3,300 sq. ft. facility located on Market Street, right in the heart of our Capital.
We have been meeting with prospective members since early January of 2013, conducting Show-n-Tell events to learn of each other’s passions and talents. We have built a strong community which would immediately use the space once it opens.
We need your assistance to make MakeHartford a reality. In order to open the space on our target date of June 28th, we need to raise $6,000. This will cover the bare essentials: security deposit, first month rent, six months of insurance, and the first month of utilities. (We have additional efforts underway to help with build-out and equipment costs.)
This is an entirely volunteer-run organization with very low overhead. We will be paying no salaries. Every penny goes into the space — so that an engaging community of makers can take shape.
Please consider pitching in. We’re all in this together. Thank you for helping birth MakeHartford!
